Happy Friday everyone!
Oh my it’s been a LONG week since my last weekly update. As you can see by the balloons…there is a birthday at my house! Today is my oldest kiddo’s birthday. Jake is 14 year old today which really blows me away when I stop and think about it.
He is at the age where he really doesn’t care too much about celebrating. He decided to have some buddies over next week. I kinda miss the big parties but I guess that’s just not cool when you are a teenager. Of course he did want to continue our tradition of picking all his favorite meals for the day. Jake is so easy going, his big wish for his birthday dinner is pretty simple—pizza and a cookie cake. Easy breezy!
He definitely deserves is as he had a MAJOR reaction and has had massive hives all over his body since last Friday. I was in such a panic we were at emergency care on Saturday morning and then at his regular doc on Monday. The emergency doc thought it was a reaction to his acne meds but the regular doc seemed to think it was a virus. The treatment was the same either way so we may not know for sure either way. Unfortunately, it could take 2 weeks for it to completely stop. The amount of hives on his body is less but he still get them off and on.
So now I am going to get myself together and start celebrating! With Jim’s recovery and Jake’s medical dramarama this week…this mama needs a break. I think it might stay in my pajamas all weekend long…we’ll see ;-)
