Welcome to this week’s Try Me Tuesday. As a reminder…each week I will grab a new set of products and test them out. I’ll put the Publix brand up against a national brand product and report back.
I know many times I struggle with what brand to choose. Often a sale or a coupon/sale combination make that an easier decision…but what about those times when you need an item and there is not a sale? Do you grab the house brand or pay more and get the national brand? More importantly, is there really a difference in taste?
This week we tried Publix Snack Crackers.

RESULTS
- Publix – 0
- Ritz – 4
As you can see there was a clear winner this week! Everyone in my family preferred the Ritz Crackers. The texture was about the same for both…but the Ritz were definitely more “buttery”.
I am not sure you’d know any difference if you don’t taste them side by side. My guys will likely never know when I use the Ritz or Publix crackers in their homemade Lunchables!
The nutrition info was almost identical so there is not a huge difference there. But, what was most surprising to me was that the price wasn’t crazy different. The Publix version was cheaper…but only by 39¢. AND, you guys know that we see BOGO sales on Ritz Crackers quite often. In fact, there is a BOGO sale and coupon combo starting up as part of the new Publix ad.
Nabisco Ritz Crackers 11.5 to 13.7 oz box or Ritz Bits, 8.8-oz box, BOGO $3.38 – $4.08
-$1/3 Nabisco Cookie or Cracker Products, exp. 9/21/19 (SS 08/11/19) [3.5-oz.+]
-$0.75/2 Nabisco Cookie or Cracker Products, exp. 9/21/19 (SS 08/11/19) [3.5-oz.+]
As low as $1.32 per box after sale and coupon.
So, my crew suggests that you stock up on Ritz this week and enjoy those buttery crackers at a great price!
So have you tried both? Did you have a preference?
